| 内容記述 | We human beings are capable of thinking and drawing a variety ofinferences,spontaneously and with remarkable efficiency. This remarkable human ability poses a challenge for cognitive science. What are the brain mechanisms underlying higher-level cognitive functions? For a long time these have been wrapped up in a mystery. However, with the advance of cognitive neuroscience and cognitive psychological studies,the brain mechanisms underlying higher-level cognition are gradually being made explicit. This paper aims to explore these brain mechanisms underlying human thinking and inferences. This paper is organized as follows. First, I discuss the expansion of the prefrontal cortex and its functions in human brains. Secondly, the mechanisms of working memory are discussed with references to human symbolic thought and inferences. Thirdly, human being's unique ability to reflect on ourselves, namely,reflexive consciousness is discussed. | |||||
