Agriculture is an important part of the Thai economy and society. However, some crop productions have problems, such as the cost of production and competitiveness for exportation. The government role in agrucultural development needs to be adjusted towards alternative production, such as horticulture, livestock, fishery, etc. Among these, the horticultural sector will play an increasing important role. Recently, flower demand has been increasing due to the needs of ornamentation and exportation. At the same time, the importation of flowers from temperate zone countries has continued to increase. The increase in flower production stimulates agro-industry and business. It is expected that flower production will play an important role in the Thai economy and environment. Effective flower production is a complex task involving many independent components. Genetic improvement, crop management, product processing, marketing, credit and other support services should be applied to flower production development policy, so that farmers can better manage and improve their product. In consideration of these issues, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC), the Department of Agricultural Extension (DOAE) has implemented an integrated approach with relevant agencies to promote flower production since the development of the 6th Economic and Social Development Plan (1987/91).}, pages = {1--10}, title = {タイ国における花卉生産と流通の展開}, volume = {31}, year = {2000}, yomi = {ヤマザキ, マサキ} }
