The activity of ascorbate peroxidase increased gradually during development of buds and peaked when buds were in full expansion stage just prior to the start of flowering. The enzyme activity decreased rapidly thereafter. No activity of catalase was detected and the activity of guaiacol peroxidase was extremely low in petals during anthesis. Extracts of pansy petals reacted to antibody raised against cytosolic ascorbate peroxidase from Japanese radish roots. These results suggest that ascorbate peroxidase has an important role in scavenging hydrogen peroxide and protecting cell constituents against oxidative damage in petals of pansy during anthesis.}, pages = {21--26}, title = {パンジー開花過程における花弁の過酸化水素分解酵素活性の変動}, volume = {29}, year = {1998}, yomi = {モリムラ, ヨウコ and ムラカミ, ムツロウ and アキタ, マリナ and ヒキタ, ミワ} }
